Ages & Stages – Ready Set Grow Inc.

The teachers will be involved in adjusting the babies to their environment when they first attend the Center. They will work closely with the parents to help with the child’s schedule since there is not a set schedule for the nursery and it is set for the individual child. Teachers will be totally involved in meeting the emotional, physical and developmental needs of each child. Appropriate outside time, equipment, toys, music, books and activities will be utilized. One on one attention will be given to enhance the development of each child. They will plan activities in the following areas: Language Skills, Art, Music, Manipulative Skills, Large and Small Motor Skills. The curriculum in the nursery is based on hands-on experience and individual stimulation.

Our toddler room is full of choices to make, learning and most important FUN! Each day they are able to choose centers they would like to work in. Play is the Work of all children. They can choose from home living, blocks, sensory, music and movement, science, manipulatives and art. They learn through song and visuals like puppets or flannel boards. They sure do like to move and groove to the music. The children choose centers in the morning. They also learn the self-skill of cleaning up. They wash hands and get ready for snack. During all meals we ask them to take a “polite bite” to see if they like the different food choices. They also have great conversations about the food and activities they did in the class or at home. Language development is strongly encouraged. We have several times during the day that we read and are always encouraging the children to speak. Large motors skills are done while marching to a song or climbing on structures on the playground. We also have tumbling mats and dancing on rainy days. We always encourage the child to do it themselves which is a great self-help skill. We learn to take turns, be the leader, work in a large and small group, follow instructions and be a good friend. The toddlers should be named “Terrific “ toddlers.

Our Preschool children are Amazing! Our teachers create such an inviting room to help children learn and grow. We work closely with the Kindergarten classes in the area to make sure that the children will be ready to enter “Big School” with all the domains of development being met. Activities will be developed to teach Movement, Cognitive Development, Self Help skills, Language Development, Music, Small Motor Skills, Gross Motor Skills, Problem Solving, Social and Emotional Development. The children learn to follow directions, work in large and small groups, be a leader, ask for help, take turns, encourage each other, use calming techniques and be a good friend. They are well prepared to go to kindergarten when they graduate.
